Karnataka, who received rich precipitation during May, set a record of all time.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Bengalur, said that on the basis of real time in May 2025, precipitation per month above the state as a whole and its two meteorological sub -divisions since 1901.
According to IMD, Karnataka received a cumulative collision of 245.2 mm during the month, a new record. The previous record was 185.9 mm recorded in 1943.
Two meteorological sub-division-colored Karnataka and northern inner Karnataka-found 764.9 mm and 172.5 mm collisions.
The previous record for the coastal area was 690.6 mm in 1918 and 151.6 mm in 1943.
Bagalkot (148.9 mm), Bidar (213.8 mm), Vijamiapura (178.7 mm), Chikkagalur (415.3 mm), Dakshina Kannada (994.5 mm), Coppal (165.9 mm) and Yadgir (200.2 mm).
The previous highest Rainfalal for these districts was 131.6 mm Bagakot in 1958; Bidar 171.8 mm in 1986; Vijayapura 158.3 mm in 1990; Chikkagagaruru 321.4 mm in 1955; 845.3 mm in 1918; Koppal 129.3 mm in 1901 and Yadgir 157 mm in
Similarly, Karnataka and Meteorological Subdivision and 10 districts also received record rainfall (since 1901) from March to May 2025.
During this period, Karnataka received 322.2 mm collisions and the previous highest was 255.5 mm in 2022.
Coast Karnataka and North-Interior Karnataka recorded 835.2 mm and 231.8 mm precipitation, and the previous highest for these two sub-divisions was 706.5 mm in 1918 and 189.1 mm in 1943.
10 districts that receive record rainfall in March to May are Bagaltot 199.2 mm; Bidar 277 mm; Vijayapura 213.4 mm; Chikkaluru 554.4 mm; Kalaburagi 243.8 mm; Dakshina Kannada 1112.7 mm; Koppal 203.3 mm; Rauchur 184.4 mm; UDUPI 1055.6 mm and YADGIR 248.6 mm.
The previous highest for these districts was Bagakot 170.6 mm recorded in 1958; Bidar 248.
