Member of Kalaburagi Lok Sabha Radhakrishna Doddamani announced that about 2,500 food sets would be distributed to people affected by heavy rain and floods in the district of Northern Karnataka. The sets will be handed over to recipients via the District Administration 26 September.
Mr. Doddamani said that continuous collisions have led to overflowing Bhim and Bennetror in the last week, forcing hundreds of villagers in low -laid areas to move to safer places. Government schools, community halls and temples have been transformed into nursing centers to provide shelter, while women, children and older people are supplied with basic items.
The teams of officials were deployed to manage the auxiliary camps and supervise security measures in the villages affected by floods. The deputy said that both the Karnataka government and the district administration were determined to provide immediate assistance. The instructions have already been issued to conduct surveys of damage to crops and house caused by rain.
Mr. Doddamani assured that urgent steps would be taken to ensure central and state road renewal funds, including national motorways, and other basic infrastructure damaged during the flood.
