
Police Karnataka said that in the case of Hanagal rape he would seek to abolish the deposit after the accused “created harassment and celebrated” soon after being released on bail.
The police took steps after a video of a celebration that included a parade with cars, music and victory, became a viral.
Anshu Kumar, a superintendent police in the Karnataka, said that seven accused in 2024 in the case of the rape of Hanagal gang were awarded a bail on May 20.
“When they came from the plunder to Akkihalur, they created an inconvenience and made a celebration. They recorded a video and published it on social media. She came to the police,” the police officer said.
Kumar said the police registered the case at the Hanagal police station according to sections 189/2, 191/2, 281, 351/2, 351/3 and 190 Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhit (BNS).
“We have secured five accused and we will produce them in court,” the police said.
Kumar added that the police would ask for the cancellation of the deposit in the case of the rape of Hanagal “on the basis of the reason for the deposit”.

The convoy of five cars, which was surrounded by at least 20 supporters, pulled out the accused gangs by rape by winning the city of Akki Alur. Victory Parade’s videos showed that one of the rape gangs was accused by the car’s sunroof, because supporters on wheels and cars moved on the road and blinked victory.
The local police took note of the matter and booked all seven men for an illegal assembly.
According to reports, the accused were identified as Aftab Chandanakatti, Madar Saab Mandakki, Samiwulla Lalanavar, Mohammad Sadiq Agasimani, Soib Mulla and Riyaz Savikeri.
The Hanagal Ganhrape case dates back to January 2024, when several men broke into the hotel room of the inter -religious couple. The case initially seemed to be one of the moral police, but the woman later claimed that she had been forcibly transported to the forest and gangraped.
