Karnataka leadership highlights: Siddaramaiah’s flight to Delhi lands in Jaipur due to bad weather

Siddaramanahundi, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s native village near Mysuru, which erupted in celebration when her famous son first assumed office in 2013 and again in 2023, is now gripped with disappointment that he has stepped down as chief minister after nearly three years in office.

Residents of Varuna, the Assembly constituency represented by Mr. Siddaramaiah, expressed major support to the Chief Minister and said he should be allowed to complete the entire five-year term.

“When the party gave him the opportunity to complete a full term before, why can’t he do it now?” the resident asked, expressing anxiety over the change in leadership.

Many felt that keeping Mr. Siddaramaiah in the top post would strengthen the party in the long run and help it in the run-up to the 2028 Assembly elections.
