
Members of various Brahmin associations organized a protest in Vijayapora on Saturday against the Karnataka Investigation Office (Kea) on recent incidents in which some students appeared for CET in Shivamogg and Bidar were reportedly asked to remove “Janivar” or “sacred thread”.
Demonstrators condemned the alleged event of Kea officials. The Akhil Bharat Brahmin Samaj Mahasangh gathered in front of the Commissioner’s deputy to mark their protest.
The incidents are highly condemnable, and those who forced students to remove or leave the investigative hall should face disciplinary proceedings, they said.
The leaders of the organization expressed concern about the incident and added that they created anxiety in the Brahmine community. “It injured the whole Brahmin community. These should be immediately suspended,” they said.
