Minister of Higher Education MC Sudhakar said that several universities in the UK wants to set up campuses in Bengalur, after interviews Karnataka delegation with the heads of various British universities.
When the Minister said that the government is not against the internationalization of higher education when it calls on the recommendation of the Commission for State Education (SEP).
“This aspect was not part of the reference conditions (TOR) provided by the SEP Commission.
Sudhakar, who advocated this step to allow foreign universities to set up campus in Karnatation, said that our students were a great opportunity to gain the degree of the same quality for lower teaching from foreign university.
“We already have the school University of Liverpool and Harrow, which will set up campuses in Bengalur. In addition, we talked to one other university that shows interest in opening the campus in Bengalur.
Spread scholarships
Karnataka also asked the United Kingdom to extend programs in the state such as Chevening scholarships and scientists for the excellent program of college talents (Scout). “Chevening currently has five members from Karnataka and Scout Covers 30 students. We asked to increase the number for Karnataka,” Dr. Sudhakar.
UK, which is trying to make a partner
Sir Steve Smith, the British Government Master of International Education, said that the long -term objectives of the United Kingdom, Karnataka and India for multinational education partnerships are aligned when we are entering rapid technological changes.
“Karnataka is one of the best pioneering states of India, and we have seen great progress in the United Kingdom-Karnataka educational partnerships, such as Imperial College London, which opens a new research center or the University of Liverpool to set up its international branch campus in Bengalur,” he said.
