Members of the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) Senate cannot be disqualified from the Local Inspection Committees (LICs) for conducting inspections for the continuation of the affiliation of nursing and allied health sciences colleges, the Karnataka High Court has ruled.
The court also ruled that to amend or revoke the statute of RGUHS, the Syndicate has to submit its resolution to the Senate, the Senate having only the power to give its consent, and then the resolution along with the recommendation of the Senate should be submitted to the State Government for final approval.
