Member of the Hassan Lok Sabha Shreyas M. Patel visited the area in Belur Taluk inadvertently at a human-slon conflict and interact with the forest department officials on measures taken to avoid these incidents.
Mr. Patel conducted a discussion with members of the Elephant and Employees working group, who dealt with the task of monitoring the movement of elephants and driving them back to the forests. The deputy was also familiar with the challenges that terrain workers face every day. During the discussion, he asked the measures that officials took to deal with human-slon conflicts in Hassan and how they differed from those acquired in other districts.
Employees showed a demonstration on the use of thermal drones that help officials monitor the movement of elephants in this area, reported a press release issued by Sourab Kumar, a forest representative.
Mr. Patel was accompanied by Mr. Kumar, assistant to the Mohan VS and other officers.
