
The Minister of the Union for heavy industry and steel HD Kumaraswamy accused the congress government of not supporting its efforts to bring industries to the region.

However, he claimed that the state government prevented this proposal from political jealousy, leading to a loss of 2,000 jobs in the Kiocl Mangalur plant. Mr. Kumaraswamy also accused the state government of politicizing development initiatives for HMT by placed obstacles on his journey.
On the other hand, the state government in the neighboring state of Andhra Pradesh supported its initiative to revive the steel plant of Visag, he said. The Minister of the Union said that Minister Andhra Pradesh Chandrababa Naidu met him several times and attended meetings to revive the race.
Zumaraswamy pointed out that such a commitment deserved recognition, and regretted that politics came in the path of development in Karnataka. “Who suffers for that? Youth is denied employment,” he said, accusing the state government.
