The Central Government has provided the energy department for two years to become eligible for a revised distribution sector (RDSS) by acquiring all the waiting arrears of electricity (ESCOMS) companies, said Energy Minister KJ George on Wednesday.
When the Minister of Power of the Union Manohar Lal Khattar was recently in Bengalur at the event, he advised the energy department to prepare a travel map for recovering fees. Karnataka is one of the few states that missed RDSS because the Escoms was owed over 8,500 GBP Crore from various government departments at that time.
“THEN, WE DID NOT EVER TRY AS WE KNEW THERE WAS NO TIME AND WERE TO ELIGIAL. BUT, WE HAVE BEEN GIVEN TWO YEARS AND WANT TO USE SCHEME AS IT WOULD GREATLY PENEFIT OF ESCOMS. The Distribution Network. George Explained.
The capacity for this system will also help consumers who install intelligent meters as a 15% subsidy (up to 900 GBP) will be provided by the Union government. It is now mandatory for all new and temporary connections to install intelligent meters in the state. Mr. George said he also wants to propose a cabinet that intelligent meters will be installed in all government offices.
765 kv wiring to be set up
In an effort to strengthen the transmission network of the state, Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL) creates three 765 kV substations – each in central, northern and southern Karnataka.
“We will be one of the few states that have these wiring,” said Pankaj Kumar Pandey, CEO of KptCl.
He also said that in urban areas where there is a problem with the right way, existing transmission corridors are used to replace wires by high -performance wires with double or four times the capacity. High towers that will occupy less space and leaving less traces are also set to reduce the loss of transmission.
All this is part of the plan to increase transmission capacity in the next five years.
