BJP State President PVN Madhav says Andhra Pradesh has become a role model for other states in attracting investment, which is evident from a number of massive projects in the pipeline, notably the Google data center being set up in Visakhapatnam.
The coalition government has demonstrated its ability to transform the state into a preferred destination for global entrepreneurs by getting some of the world’s most prominent and largest companies to invest in the state.
“Andhra Pradesh’s success in mobilizing investment has upset Karnataka so much that its minister Priyank Kharge could not hide his government’s frustration at falling behind. The Congress dispensation in Karnataka is a failed government,” he told the media in Vijayawada on Wednesday.
Flow of funds
Mr. Madhav said the state government could attract huge investment with the support of the Union government, which has provided ₹1.50 crore assistance to Andhra Pradesh.
He said that ₹1,80,000 crore has been invested in the green hydrogen center and it is progressing rapidly. Similarly, he added that a revival package of ₹ 11,444 crore has been approved for the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP).
The Google data center was all set to transform Visakhapatnam into a global growth center in IT and artificial intelligence (AI).
According to him, the Rayalaseema region is shaping up to be a renewable energy hub. And a number of other projects, mainly including the ArcelorMittal-Nippon Steel plant at Anakapalli and the BPCL refinery at Ramayapatnam, would make Andhra Pradesh a prosperous state, Madhav added.
All this was possible due to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and with the best efforts of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and IT Minister N. Lokesh, the BJP leader said.
The central and state governments were giving due emphasis to develop Amaravati as a vibrant capital city, he claimed, adding that the Polavaram project was implemented on a war footing.
“Advantages of a Twin Engine”
Rajamahendravaram MP Daggubati Purandeswari said that Andhra Pradesh has made rapid strides with the twin-engine government. She said that Mr. Modi is giving full support to the state and funds are being allocated to all regions with equal importance. Ms. Purandeswari noted that more investment will flow into the state once an enabling business environment is created.
Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav, Paka MP Venkata Satyanarayana and MLC Somu Veerraju were present.
