The main Minister Siddaramaiah, who was in Kalaburagag to attend Kalyan Karnataka Utsav, visited 17th September in Kalaburagaga Taluk in the village of Farhatabad in Kalaburagagi to check the damage caused by the recent magic of heavy rains.
The main minister inspected agricultural land of 27.23 acres belonging to farmers Channabasapp and Suryakant (survey no. 50), where the Turk crop was completely destroyed.
Farmers explained that despite the crop reappearing, the rain destroyed the whole crop.
“If the crop survived, we would harvest at least 5-6 bags of tour on the acre,” one of the farmers said to Mr. Siddaramaiah.
The joint director of agriculture Samad Patel reported the main minister about the extent of crop loss in this area.
Later, Mr. Siddaramaiah said to Mediaperons that compensation would be published after presenting a joint survey report. “We are waiting for the message,” he added.
The delegation led by Sidramappa Dhangapur, president of the District Farming Association, urged the main minister to announce relief from the state government in addition to the NDRF compensation and to provide subsidies to the farmers of Rabi.
The main minister was accompanied by his Minister of the Cabinet of RDPR and Kalaburagag, the Priyank Kharge, Chairman of KKRDB Ajay Singh, Fouzia Taranum vice -chairman, police commissioner SharanAppa S. Dhage, Zilla Panchayat CEO Bhanwar, and other higher officials, and other higher officials.
Provide adequate relief to farmers
Before visiting the affected areas, Mr. Siddaramaiah met with officials at the level of districts in the AIWAN-E-SHAHI pension and gathered information about crop damage due to heavy rains.

He ordered the district authorities to give farmers adequate relief for crop loss. “Make sure all desperate farmers have gained 100% relief for crop damage in the same way as for loss of human and animals,” Siddaramaiah instructed officials.
KKRDB chairman Ajay Singh reported that the district received 17% more precipitation than last year. The district including Bidar, Kalaburagi, Yadgir and Koppal are most affected because of excessive precipitation, the officials said.
Minister of RDPR Priyank Kharge explained that continuous rain over the past few weeks has been preventing a survey of crop damage. It was difficult to complete a joint survey in a specified period. As soon as the rain retreats, the officials will restore a joint survey to evaluate the damage on crops, which may take another 10 days.
