
Former Minister of Karnataka and son BJP MLA RAMESH JARKIHOLI, Santosh Jarkiholi, was booked by the police after a video that showed him that he reportedly fired in the air at the Sunday fair in Gokak, which was reportedly fired in the air.
On Friday, during the annual Laxmi temple festival fair in Gokak in the Belagavi district, there was an incident. Santosh was seen to celebrate in the middle of the crowd by firing in the air. The video incident became viral on social media.
The Gokak Municipal Police registered the first information report (companies) against Santosh Jarkiholi on Saturday and booked it for the unlawful use of a firearm at a public assembly.
The police claimed that Santosh, which was covered with yellow powder, was between the big crowd when he was seen by a double weapon to fire shots into the air. His supporters encouraged when he fired shots.
Santosh reportedly carried out the law in the presence of a significant deployment of the police at the venue.
In an interview with reporters of the district superintendent police Belagavi dr. Bhimashankar Guled confirmed the development. “We encountered a video that shows that Ramesh Jarkiholi’s son shot shots in the air in a public place. The display of firearms and shooting in public is a crime. We registered the SUO Moto case and other legal steps follow a detailed investigation,” Hans India quoted SP when told reporters.
Minister of Internal Society G Parameshware said the state was to take the matter seriously.
“A formal complaint has been filed and legal steps will follow appropriately. The police perform their obligation without succumbing to any pressure. No one is above the law,” he said, ensuring a transparent investigation of the case.
Santosh can be summoned for questioning soon, the officials said.
