The City Development Department (UDD) announced that from 15 May, Wednesday will come into force Act on Administration of Public Bengalur, 2024.
Sources in the UDD reported that there will be little to change immediately and the transition to the new system will be gradual, through consecutive government orders. All officials will continue to have the same powers and functions as the law of Bruhhat Bengaluru Mahanagar Palike (BBMP), until 2020, until the new law is not specified, the Declaration of the UDD.
Until there are more corporations that are said to be three, stretched and informed by the State Government, BBMP will continue to work on the basis of the Bengalur (GBA) office, which is expected soon. The GBG law, 2024, also allows one company.
The new law stipulates several corporations (1 to 7 corporations, each of which has up to 150 departments) and GBA at the Pan-City level led by the main minister to coordinate between more corporations and all parasets in the city.
“As an immediate step, the state government must now form a GBA under the Presidency of the Chief Minister and to appoint an authority administrator who will have to oversee the transition,” said the higher official. According to sources, the main secretary of the UDD will probably be appointed GBA administrator.
While the joint committee for the legislators and the Bengalur Committee recommended the GBA trace to include about 25 urbanized villages outside the current civic limits, originally the GBA will enter into force with the same current civic limits of 709 km. Km introduced on Wednesday on Wednesday.
Parastatals on one platform
It will be the first time different parastaters in the city such as Bangalore Development Authority (BDA), Bangalore Water Supply and Severage Board (BWSSB), Bengalur Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC), Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation LTD (BMRCL) Supply Company (Bengaluru), LTD), LTD (BSMRCl) (BSMRCL) (BSMRCL) (BMRCL), Bangalore Electriticy Supply Corporation (BMTC), Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation. Bengaluru Smart Infrastructure Ltd (B-Silem) and even the Benugalu Municipal Police, among other things, will find one platform with civil administration in the GBA. It is expected to provide holistic planning and coordinated access to the city administration.
However, it is necessary to take legal steps to change the memorandum on the context of companies and laws regulating some of these parasets, such as BDA and BWSSB, to be specified that they will now be responsible GBA. Without these changes, GBA will also be toothless, the sources said.
