Karkala-based artists Yaksha Rangayana will bring three productions to Bengaluru from December 27 to December 29.
The Repertory Theater will present Somiya Soubhagya’s musical Dr. Shivarama Karantha directed by Ganesh Mandarti.
The other two plays are Mahatmara Baravigaagi, a Kannada adaptation of RK Narayan’s ‘Waiting for the Mahatma’, directed by Srikanth NV, and Gulaamana Swatantrya Yatre by Egyptian playwright Tawfiq al-Hakim, directed by BR Venkataraman Aithala.
Both the plays will be performed on December 28 and December 29 at Kasturi Ba Aptha Rangamandira at 7 pm.
About the Yaksha Rangamandira
Established in Karkala in March 2022, Yaksha Rangayana is among the six branches of Rangayana in Karnataka, set up to nurture the various regional languages, dialects and nuances of the state.
The repertoire envisages building a modern theater using Yakshagana myths, stories and poems while spreading the cultural richness of coastal Karnataka.
