Religious fervor marked the celebration of Goddess Kanyaka Parameswari Jayanti at the Sri Vasavi Kanyakaparameshwari Temple in Khammam on Sunday. Special pujas, recitation of hymns and religious discourses were held in the temple on the occasion.
In a statement, Mellacheruvu temple committee chairman Venkateshwara Rao thanked the Telangana government for declaring Sri Vasavi Kanyaka Parameswari Jayanti as an official state festival.
