Students, faculty and staff of KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research Deemed-to-be-University’s (KAHER) Kannada Balaga celebrated the 70th Karnataka Rajyotsava in Belagavi on Saturday.
NS Mahantashetti, Acting Vice Chancellor KAHER and Former Honorary President of Kannada Balaga was the Chief Guest. She appreciated Kannada Balag’s continuous efforts to create awareness about Kannada among today’s young generation and advised her to continue leading it even more successfully. Ms. Mahantashetti was honored for leading the Kannada Balaga for more than a decade.
VM Pattanshetti, Registrar of KLE University, spoke about the greatness of Kannada’s linguistic heritage. He said that everyone should join hands with Kannada Balaga and continue to contribute towards development. VD Patil, Director, KLE New Hospital and Projects spoke and expressed appreciation for the many programs undertaken by Kannada Balaga.
The students created a tableau with the slogan “Cancer or Life: Make Your Choice Right”, depicting the effects of cancer on the human body. This image was taken around the city in the Rajyotsava procession and created awareness about the health problems caused by cancer and its prevention.
Students of Kannada Balaga performed a dance performance depicting Karnataka culture at the function and at various places in the city. KLE School of Music teachers and students presented Kannada songs.
Rajesh S. Powar, Chief JNMC and Honorary President of Kannada Balaga presided. Avinash Kavi, Chairman, Kannada Balaga welcomed the gathering and delivered opening remarks on the glory of Kannada-Kannadiga-Karnataka, said the release.
