The ruling congress on Friday (July 4, 2025) kicked on BJP over the commentary of the Mandi MP Kangana Ranaut that she had not visited the cloudburst affected area of Mandi on the “advice” of her party Jai Ram Thakur and said that opposition leader in Himachal Pradesh “angry”.
Up to 43 lives were lost in Hill, 14 of which died in Cloudbursts, eight in the lightning floods, one in land landslides and seven were drowned. The greatest death, 17, was reported in the Mandi district, where chaos caused 10 cases of cloudbursts, lightning floods and landslides on Tuesday.
On Friday, Mrs. Ranut said: “It is heartbreaking to see the massive flood devastation in Himachal almost every year. I tried to achieve the flood areas in Sera and other areas in Mandi, but he was recommended to be renowned opposition leader Jai Ram Thakur.

Her remarks came the day after Thakur, the opposition leader in the State Assembly, tried to reveal questions about the absence of MP Mp Ranut from the calamity interference and said, “We are concerned by the locals and we live and die for them.
On Friday, who joined the note, the main Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu asked Mrs. Ranaut to talk to Mr. Thakur and stated that the opposition leader “got angry”.
On Thursday, Mr. Thakur turned to a press conference in Mandi and lamented that two decades of development work in his constituent district were destroyed in calamity and would take years to restore.
Nachan, Karsog, Drang, Dharampur, Mandi of Election Districts and the adjacent areas suffered colossal losses, he said and urged the government to impress, rescue and restore at war base.
