Kamala Harris formally announced that he would not enter the race to the Governor of California and end months of speculating on her political future. In her statement published on Wednesday (July 30), Harris stated that she had reached a “deep reflection” and emphasized its ongoing commitment to public service – albeit outside the elected function in the foreseeable future.
“After a deep reflection, I decided not to run for the governor in these elections,” Harris said.
Focus on public service outside policy
Harris, who previously worked as a California prosecutor and an American senator before becoming a vice president, explained that he was still considered a civil servant – but one who can now work beyond traditional political roles.
“My leadership – and public service – will not be in the chosen office,” she said. “I’m looking forward to getting out and listening to the American people.”
She also indicated future plans and promised in the coming months to reveal more.
Call for political renewal
Former Vice President used a statement to deliver a wider message on the current state of American policy. She criticized the institutions for not fulfilling public expectations and called on “new methods and fresh thinking”.
“We have to realize that our policy, our government and our institutions have failed too often US people,” she said.
“We must be willing to focus on changes in new methods and fresh thinking – connected to our same values and principles, but not bound by the same book.”
Democrat support and local involvement
Although Harris returned from the office, he undertook to remain politically active and focused on the support of democratic candidates throughout the country and remain in conjunction with voice votes.
“I’ll stay in it,” she promised. “We help to choose democrats across the country who will fight fearlessly.”
Long -term commitment to California
Harris emphasized her deep ties to California, called the state “home” and expressed admiration for those who continue to serve in public roles.
“I love this state, his people and his promise. It’s my home.”
The next chapter will be announced
Although Harris did not specify what her next steps would be, her final remarks suggest that she is preparing for a new type of role – one that remains focused on defense, organization and mobilization.
“In the United States, power must consist of people,” she said. “And we people have to use our power to fight for freedom, opportunity, justice and dignity of all.”

Kamala Harris has maintained a relatively low profile in the presidential elections in 2024 since her defeat in Donald Trump Republican.
With the current Governor of California Gavin Newsom, Democrat, she was forbidden to look for re -election due to term limits, and the Governor race attracts remarkable candidates.
Among the important democrats who have already declared their candidacy are Xavier Becerra, former Minister of Health and Human Services under former President Joe Biden and former representative of Katie Porter.
