The review meeting on the readiness for the northeast monsoon was chaired on Wednesday by the collector Mrs. Prasanth at the collector in Kallakurich.
The meeting carried out with the line departments tried to find out the readiness of the Ministry to face the monsoon and assess the vulnerability of the district.
Mr. Prasanth ordered officials to mark vulnerable areas and prepare the necessary security protocols. They should ensure interventions in watercourses, inputs and channels have been removed and sand bags are ready.
Revenue officials should take steps to warn people living in low -laid areas and along the banks of the river, he said.
Each department was asked to develop a report on reaction to emergency situations to handle emergency emergencies related to the monsoon, including infrastructure damage. The department of income, local bodies and public works was asked to coordinate and cooperate with each other.
The officials were further ordered to ensure the availability of basic machines such as earth mounting, tree equipment, vehicles, diesel generators, sand bags, motor pumps and inflatable ships for rescue and reliefs.
