The state government renamed the newly built Bengalur Bus Terminal Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) in Kalasipalya in the heart of Bengalur as Jan Jedari Sri Doddanna Shetlanna Shetranna Kalasipalya bus station after the famous philanthropist.
Filanthrop Doddanna Shettar founded the charity confidence of SRI Lakshmi Zarasimhaswamy (SLN) in 1906 in the neighboring Kalasipalya bus terminal, with a vision of providing the same education, regardless of caste or social status. He established several schools and universities.
As a recognition of his contributions to the company of the then Maharaja of Mysuru, Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar, he honored the title “JanDar”.
Charity trust continues to provide free education, food, accommodation, scholarships for students of all communities and monthly widows. BMTC, acknowledged by the invaluable Doddanna Shettar service, decided to rename the Kalasipalya bus station as Jan Jedari Sri Doddanna Shettar Kalasipalya bus station, said Transport Minister Ramaling Reddy, who unveiled a new brand on Saturday.
The new state -of -the -art Kalasipalya terminal was inaugurated for public use on March 10, 2023. This bus station includes seven bus bays, each with six platforms, commercial shops, drinking water facilities, toilets and a two -wheel parking space. Currently, from the Kalasipalya bus station, it covers 671 schedules of 2,004 trips to various destinations. From plans 505 Chandrabhavan covering 1,227 trips and a total of 1,176 plans that cover a total of 3,221 trips.
