Kalaburagi student selected for national chess championship

Anish P. More, a student of SRN Mehta School, Kalaburagi, has been selected to participate in the National Chess Championship to be held in Madhya Pradesh after securing the fifth position in the National Under-14 Chess Competition.

The tournament was organized by the Department of Public Instruction at Gangavati in Koppal district of Karnataka from October 15 to 17 as part of the sports competitions of the academic year 2026-27.

Anish’s achievement brought recognition to his school and Kalaburagi district.

School Management Trustee Chakore Mehta, Principal Preeti Mehta, Physical Education Head Basavaraj Talakeri, Chess Coach Pramod More and other teachers congratulated the student on his success and expressed happiness over his selection for the national level competition.
