Kalaburagi is at the forefront of e-Office usage

Kalaburagi district has emerged as the best in the state in using e-Office system for speedy disposal of files in government offices, rural development and Panchayat Raj, IT-BT and district in-charge Priyank Kharge said.

In a media release issued here on Saturday, the Minister said that Kalaburagi Zilla Panchayat under the Department of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj has secured the first position in the state in effective use of technology aimed at ensuring time-bound disposal of files and improving administrative efficiency.

According to the official data it provided for the calendar year 2025, the Zilla Panchayat created 2,938 e-files and disposed of 54,381.

In addition, 13,664 requests received from the public were processed through the e-receipt system.

“The objective of implementing the e-Office system is to make government offices more citizen-friendly and prevent people from having to visit government offices repeatedly. Allocating responsibility to officials and employees for time-bound disposal of files through e-Office has yielded results. The district is now at the forefront of administrative reforms,” ​​said Mr. Kharge.

Four in the top 10

Sharing state-level data, the Minister said that Kalaburagi topped the list of Zilla Panchayats in creating e-files in 2025, followed by Chitradurga (2,523 e-files) and Bengaluru Urban (2,476).

Bidar is fifth with 2,339 e-files, Yadgir eighth with 1,955 and Koppal ninth with 1,924 e-files.

“The presence of four districts of Kalyana Karnataka in the top 10 reflects the acceleration of administrative efficiency in the rural parts of the region,” Mr. Kharge said, adding that Kalaburagi has become a model district for smooth governance.

Aland, Afzalpur

The district has also recorded notable achievements at the taluk panchayat level. While Mulbagal Taluk Panchayat in Kolar district tops the state by creating 1,508 e-files and scrapping 3,089 files, Aland Taluk Panchayat in Kalaburagi district secured the second position by creating 1,127 e-files, scrapping 3,560 files and processing 2,0022

Afzalpur Taluk Panchayat is ranked seventh with 668 e-files created and 3,189 files disposed of, while Kalaburagi Taluk Panchayat is ninth with 564 e-files created and 1,527 disposed.

With three talukas featuring in the top 10, Kalaburagi district recorded a strong performance overall.

Preference

Meanwhile, Zilla Panchayat CEO Bhanwar Singh Meena expressed satisfaction over the achievement and said that public applications are given top priority through the e-Office system.

He said files are processed using digital signatures instead of physical signatures, which ensures faster disposal and transparency.

He commended the efforts of officers and staff and directed lower level staff to continue to respond promptly to public complaints through efficient file management.
