The Chief Minister Pinaraya Vijayan distributed the prestigious Kairali Research Awards at the ceremony, which took place here on Wednesday.
On this occasion, he emphasized the urgent need to solve the challenges facing the research sector in India, especially in terms of financing. While developed nations allocate about 3% of their gross domestic product (GDP) for research, India will spend only a modest 0.6% of their GDP, ”he lamented.
He also expressed concerns about abuse of research funds that are sometimes used to support political ideologies rather than scientific truth.
The main minister also spoke about the decreasing number of research scholarships and scholarships provided by the Research Center over the past five years.
