K-pop star and actor Nana had a violent encounter with a home intruder at her residence outside Seoul and is now recovering in hospital after suffering injuries during the struggle, South Korean police said on Sunday.
The incident occurred early Saturday when an intruder broke into Nana’s residence to steal valuables and cash from her home, which is located on the outskirts of Seoul, a detective at Guri Police Station in Gyeonggi Province told AFP.
The offender, dubbed Mr A, was accused of illegally entering the luxury villa at 6am with a gun, threatening residents and demanding money.
However, the intruder was unable to escape after the attempted robbery as Nana and her mother overpowered him in a physical struggle. Mr A, a man in his 30s, was beaten and later arrested, the investigator said.
The intruder was taken into police custody on charges of aggravated robbery, an official told AFP.
