Tirthankar Ghosh, the judge of the High Court in Calcutta, escaped RG Kar Medical College and the Hospital and the victims of the murder to start a new probe into rape and murder. On the other hand, the Trinamool Congress said that the police in Calcutta were more effective in finding the perpetrator than the central investigative office of the Central Government (CBI).
On Thursday (August 28, 2025), Judge Ghosh said there were two more petitions that challenge the judgment to hear on the justice division Debangs Basak, and the parents’ petition should also be heard the same bench to secure the judiciary.
The victim’s family moved the court and stated that they did not believe in the CBI investigation and that there were inconsistencies in the probe. They were looking for a new crime investigation.
“They sent the case to the main judge of justice TS to Sivagnanam and are waiting for the assignment. Who will see this case after it happens as soon as it is assigned,” said the victim’s father RG on Thursday (August 28, 2025) when Ghosh re -applied petitions.
During previous interviews, the victim’s parents of RG Kar said Hindu that they were dissatisfied with CBI investigations. “We do not think that their investigation was fair or accurate.
Regarding the matter of the incident RG Kar, Abhishek Banerjee, the second commander and National Secretary of TMC, he also spoke about him at the Trinamool Chhatra Parisad (TMCP) Foundation on Thursday (August 28, 2025) in Calcutta.
“A year has passed today. What the police did under the leadership of CM mamat Banerjee, then CBI Narendra Modi could not do even after a year. This came in relation to the arrest of civil volunteer Sanjoy Roy, the only convict in rape and murder RG Kar Roy – in the defendant letter submitted on October 7, 2024.
Mr. Banerjee accused the police of his government of being able to arrest the defendant in one day, and CBI officials who took over the case of August 14, 2024 could not reveal any new culprits.
TMC MP of Diamond Harbor, who was one of the leading faces of TMC’s youth leadership, also accused that the central government had not passed their “Bill apparatus”, which asked for the death penalty for all rape accused in cases where it results in the death of the victim or leave them in a vegetative state.
“Those who protested against it were not the goal that the accused should be punished, but to destroy the established health infrastructure to protect the interests of the poor,” Mr. Banerjee accused.
