Cricket fans have been outraged after reports suggest that Rohit Sharma is to be replaced as Indian Captain Odi in front of the upcoming white ball in Australia.
According to Espncricinfo and Indian Express, the BCCI is expected to announce the platoon soon and Rohit is likely to be removed from its leading role in 50-over format. While it is expected to retain its place as a specialized opener, the captain’s reins are reportedly prepared for Shubman Gill.
Gill, who has already taken over the Captain from Rohit, seems to be a pioneer to become an Indian leader of all formats, because the team is building towards another cycle of ICC events.
Development caused a wave of frustration and disappointment between Rohit fans who believe that the decision is unfair due to its contributions. Many of them pointed out that cricket Odi was Rohit’s strongest format and that he was a match player in the recent Trophy Champions.
