The jungle camp at the Masjid Gadda City Forest Park is being handed over to a private bidder six-and-a-half years after its launch at Shamshabad near the Pedda Golconda exit of the Outer Ring Road.
After reconstruction, the camp was re-launched on Monday 29 June 2026 by the Chief Senior Conservator of Forests and Head of Forest Force C. Suvarna, stating that the camp will be available in full and with modern facilities by 20 July 2026.
In addition to the eight existing cabins in the camp, there will be 10 more camping tents, a canteen, a yoga center, a wellness center, a five-kilometer walk, a bike path, a lookout tower, an ecotourism zone and experience programs.
A program called ‘Junior Rangers’ is being launched to increase awareness about nature, forests and biodiversity among students, Ms. Suvarna informed.
An adventure sports organization called Freakouts Adventures secured a bid through a tender process to manage the jungle camp on a ‘Licence to Operate’ basis.
Works like additional tents, multi-purpose hall, lake construction and beautification are being done at a cost of ₹5 crore.
Masjid Gadda was part of 94 urban forest parks planned for development across the state between 2015 and 2020. It was built on 180 hectares of forest block at a cost of ₹4.34 crore. The park had two areas designated as Adventure Zone and Jungle Camp. There were trails for walking, running, cycling, in addition to camping, adventure sports, children’s playgrounds, gazebos, multi-purpose sheds and other facilities for visitors.
