JSS STU will host a Japan-India academic meeting

JSS Science and Technology University is organizing a Japan-India academic exchange initiative called Wondervogel–II Program from 18 to 25 February 2026 here. This initiative brings together students, teachers and researchers from India and Japan to collaborate in an academic environment.

The program is organized in collaboration with Hokkaido University, CSIR – Central Food Technological Research Institute and University of Mysore. A delegation of 35 members, including students and teachers from both countries, is expected to participate.

“The initiative aims to promote cross-cultural learning and research collaboration through lectures, laboratory exhibits, field visits, seminars and academic discussions focused on food systems, environmental sustainability, agriculture and human health,” JSS STU officials said at Monday’s press conference.

Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji of Suttur Math will inaugurate the programme. Eminent academics and dignitaries from India and Japan will attend.

In addition to the programme, the Department of Chemistry at Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering, JSS STU, Mysuru, will organize a one-day international conference on February 18 titled “Bidging Chemistry and Food – An Integrated Approach for a Sustainable Society”. Around 250 delegates are expected to attend, including researchers, industry experts, international participants and students.
