JP Nagar inhabitants raised serious concerns about the proposed double -folding overpass under the Metro Namma phase, warning that its alignment could worsen traffic jams near the already secured Vega City Mall intersection on Bannerghatta.
Overview, part of Corridor 1 from the 4th phase of JP Nagar to Kempapura, is set to land only 130 meters from the signal of Vega City Mall, the movement that the locals believes could lead to heavy gridck.
The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), which has already started obtaining land for a corridor 1 32.15 km, has proposed an overview in the metro alignment without signal. While residents welcomed the potential of the project to make the city of Demonged the city, it claims that contemporary design needs an urgent revision.
“The problem is not with the subway, but where the overpass ends. Termination so close to the Vega City signal only shifts a narrow profile, not eliminating it. We have already written BMRCL and in March they met with the elected representative of our area to emphasize this problem,” resident JP Nagar 3.
He also explained: “We JP Nagar residents have shared our concerns, especially landing on the ramp near the intersection. Adding ramps and expanding roads are not long -term solutions. They simply move traffic rather than reduce it.
The inhabitants are looking for a shift in landing overpass
Social care Association of JP Nagar 4. Phase dollars (RWA) also formally communicated their concerns BMRCL. In the letter of the Association, she noted: “We sincerely welcome the Namma Metro phase 3 and recognize its potential to alleviate the traffic suffering of Bengaluru. It could make it possible to create a residential overload, and that they could create a decline in the stay and to be tailored, and it could be on the dwelling, and it caused the remaining officials.
To alleviate this risks, RWA has suggested a shift in alignment. “The constructive alternative, unanimously solved by the inhabitants, is to have an overpass in front of the road signal Kanakapura. This would create a 2.5 km of equalizing zone for better operation scattering and the connection to the silk plate near Raghanes Swamy.
Meanwhile, the inhabitants claim that their appeal remains unanswered. “Despite a number of meetings with BMRCL officials, the latest is 12 May, there was no specific reaction on their part. We want to develop, but it must be thoughtful and sustainable. This project, if not properly planned, will change the intersection in Vega City to the next nightmare for commuters.”
When the Hindus contacted BMRCL officials, they did not respond to concerns raised by the inhabitants. The manager said that this matter was still reviewed. All about the Namma Metro phase 3.
Korridor 1, which will also include the main exchange station in JP Nagar and Peenya (on the green line), Mysuro Road (on the purple line) and Sumanahali (on Hosahalli – Kadabagere Corridor 2), aims to expand the range of the Metro Begaluru. Stage 4 JP Nagar will also be connected to the Bannerghatta Road, while Hebal will act as a key exchange connecting the blue line (with the airport) and the red line (with Sarjapur).
Stage 3, also referred to as an orange line, will be fully increased and is expected to serve along the insufficiently operated areas along the Magadi Road and the western part of the outer circular road (orr). After completion in 2029, it is assumed that 7.85 LakH daily commuting will be accommodated, extending the network of the city to 222.2 km.
While the project received all compulsory approval, including the nod of the Union’s cabinet in August 2024, the officials admit that the modifications of the proposal needed for the dual pattern viaduct have delayed the construction timeline.
