Several journalists attended the second press conference organized by Afghan Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi on Sunday. Presser comes after the Afghan FM ended a serious attack after the journalists were “excluded” from the previous conference, which took place on Friday in Delhi.
During a Sunday press conference, the Afghan Foreign Minister faced a rush of questions about the absence of journalists at his previous press briefing.
Afghan FM is on an six -day visit to India.
What happened at a press conference?
Several opposition leaders described the absence of female journalists at a press conference as “unacceptable” and “insulting women”. Many of the press bodies also criticized the Afghan Foreign Minister.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) stated that it was not involved in the press interaction.
What did FM Muttaqi say?
FM Amir Khan Muttaqi said about the previous absence of female journalists and said it was “unintentional”.
“As for the press conference, it was organized in a short time. A small list of journalists was completed. It was more of a technical problem,” he said.
Muttaqi said that there is no intention of excluding journalists.
“Our colleagues decided to send invitations to specific journalists and there was no other intention,” he said.
The line above the absence of female journalists at the first Muttaqi press conference in Delhi comes in the middle of the repeated UN criticism about limiting the Taliban about the life of women in Afghanistan.
Women in Afghanistan
As part of the “Taliban 2.0” regime, which seized controls in August 2021, Afghan women and girls call what the UN calls the most serious crisis of women’s rights in the world.
According to the United Nations, dozens of guidelines removing women and girls have issued their rights and work after their movement and public decision-making. Girls are forbidden in high school.
Women are also excluded from universities, most jobs and public spaces such as parks, gyms and sports clubs.
The visit of Minister Taliban, which began on October 9 and will continue until October 16, is the first high -level delegation from Kabul to India because the Taliban confiscated power in Afghanistan in August 2021.
