The Center on Friday (April 10, 2026) informed the Delhi High Court that legal action has been initiated to block certain allegedly defamatory and community-sensitive tweets by journalist Rana Ayyub.
In a note before Justice Purushaindra Kumar Kaurav, the central government and the police said the investigating agency had on April 9 asked the concerned authority to block objectionable tweets under Section 69A of the Information Technology (IT) Act, 2000.
