Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro revealed on Sunday (April 13) that the arson had lit an official Governor’s residence in Harrisburg, led by an emergency evacuation of his family in the early morning hours.
“Last night at 2 o’clock in the morning, my family and I woke up to the bangs on the door from the state police in Pennsylvania after the arson ignited the Governor’s residence,” Shapiro said in a social media post.
“Thank God, no one was injured and the fire was extinguished.”
Passover celebrations turn to need
Just a few hours before the fire, Shapiro – which is Jewish – published a photograph of his family seat seat seatsharing a holiday moment from the mansion.
The authorities said the Shapiro family was in another part of the house and was unharmed when the fire broke out.
The first respondents appreciated
In the subsequent report, Shapiro expressed gratitude to coercive and emergency crews.
“Every day we stand with coercive bodies and the first respondents to protect our communities. They did so for our family last night – and Lori, and I am eternally grateful for keeping us safe.”
Reported considerable damage
The State Police in Pennsylvania, which conducts an investigation, confirmed that the fire caused “significant damage to part of the residence”.
“While the fire has been successfully extinguished, this caused a significant amount of damage to a part of the residence,” the agency said in its statement. “While the investigation is underway, the state police are ready to say at the moment that it is arson.”
No motif has not yet been revealed
Officials did not provide the motive after the attack. Investigators offer a $ 10,000 reward for information leading to arrest and belief.

Shapiro, a democrat from a key rocking state, is widely considered to be a potential candidate for the presidential race 2028.
