The Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO) and the state government’s Public Works Department (PWD) have decided to jointly undertake road development in industrial areas to improve connectivity of factories, plants and manufacturing units.
As many as 38 roads will be developed on a cost-sharing model, with RIICO bearing 50% of the total expenditure. Official sources said here on Wednesday (May 6, 2026) that as several industrial areas have been connected to state highways, the construction and strengthening of roads will facilitate smooth transportation of raw materials and finished products.
The initiative will strengthen infrastructure and improve connectivity in the industrial areas of the state. The access roads to these areas under PWD jurisdiction are approximately 205 km long and their strengthening and widening is estimated to require an expenditure of Rs 290 crore.
The road projects will benefit industrial areas in Abu Road, Ajmer, Balotra, Banswara, Bharatpur, Bhilwara, Churu, Dausa, Jaipur, Jalore, Jhalawar, Kota, Neemrana, Sawai Madhopur, Sriganganagar and Udaipur.
PWD will carry out the road works with a financial partnership of 50% between RIICO and PWD. RIICO had earlier approved a proposal to contribute 50%, amounting to Rs 37 crore of the total project cost of Rs 74 crore, for widening of the state highway and construction of drainage system for the benefit of industrial areas in Bhiwadi region.
