The demand for skilled manpower from Karnataka is growing worldwide and the latest demand is from companies based in Slovakia in Europe.
Global carmaker Stellantis, which makes the Citroën C3, C3 Aircross and Opel Frontera, has made a recruitment drive to the Karnataka government, this time looking for candidates with advanced automotive electrical skills.
The company, which already employs around 100 assembly line operators from Karnataka at its plant in Trnava, near Bratislava, expressed its demand at a meeting with Dr. Sharanaprakash Patil, Minister of Skill Development and Medical Education, and Dr. MC Sudhakar, Minister of Higher Education. Both are currently touring selected European cities as part of a roadshow ahead of the Bangalore International Job Fair scheduled for February 2026.
During their visit to Stellantis, the ministers reviewed the plant facilities and welfare arrangements provided to workers from Karnataka. Currently, the company employs more than 50 heavy vehicle drivers and 100 assembly line operators trained and trained by the Karnataka Vocational Training & Skill Development Corporation (KVTSDC). Their immigration and placement was facilitated by the International Immigration Center Karnataka (IMC-K).
