
JNUSU election result 2025 LIVE: Latest trends for the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Union (JNUSU) elections show a close fight between the Left Unity and the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) across four central panel posts.
However, the votes are currently being counted. The Election Commission said the final results were likely to be announced on Thursday evening.
The JNUSU polls held on Tuesday recorded 67 percent participation, down slightly from 70 percent last year. The election witnessed lively participation, with students beating drums, raising slogans and queuing up at booths across the campus.
Widely seen as a reflection of ideological divisions on campus, the contest is primarily between the Left Unity, which includes the All India Students’ Association (AISA), the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) and the Democratic Students’ Federation (DSF), and the RSS-affiliated ABVP.

After 4,340 votes were counted, All India Students’ Association (AISA) representatives present at the counting booths announced the following statistics:
Around 1,500 votes are still to be counted, with final results expected later on Thursday, according to news agency PTI, citing sources.
Earlier, the ABVP said in a statement that it had won 14 of the 26 councilor seats declared and claimed there was a “clean sweep” in three schools.
