“With regard to the ongoing serious weather conditions and predictions, it was decided that the class at all schools of the valley would remain suspended for one day for one day 21.
“This decision was taken as a preventive step to ensure the safety and well -being of all students,” she added.
The spokesman of the transport department said that the vehicle movement on the National Highway Jammu-Srinagar was stopped from both sides due to landslides, mud and shooting stones in more places between Nushi and Banihal.
He said the rain continues along the highway, and the commuters were recommended not to travel on the arterial road until the weather improved and the road was cleaned.
The section of the road near Panthiyal was also swept away, the officials said and added that all stressed people were moved to safety.
