
Governor of Jammu and Cashmere Governor Manoj Sinha performs “Pratham Puja” in St. AmarNath cave, referring to the ceremonial beginning of the annual AmarNath Yatra, Anantnag on June 11, 2025.
Governor of Lieutenant J&K Manoj Sinha on Wednesday (June 11, 2025) was carried out by Pratham Puja in the sanctuary of AmarNath, located in the Pahalgam of South Kashmir, and urged the devotees to appear in large numbers for this year’s pilgrimage.
The pilgrimage site lies in the same district as the Baisaran meadow, where April 22 left a deadly terrorist attack on April 22.
“Administration J&K, AmarNath shrine, army, Border Roads, central armed police forces, J&K police and all parties work with complete devotion, determination, cooperation and clear goals for trouble -free and safe journey since July 3,” Lieutenant said. He called on the devotees “to visit the Holy Yatra in large numbers and pray to Mahadev for progress J&K and the nation”.
Review of preparation
Raj Bhavan, a spokesman for Raja, said that Pratham Puja held in a sanctuary meant the ceremonial beginning of the annual Amarath Yatra. “I have a full belief that significant improvements to basic equipment and services will ensure that this year’s pilgrimage will be unforgettable and spiritually fulfilling for all devoted to all. Baba Amarnath can constantly shower her divine blessing on all of us,” said Mr. Sinha.
Lieutenant Governor also visited Baltal in the Ganderbal district to review the arrangements for medical and health care at the Baltal Base Camp Hospital. He ordered officials to ensure the availability of adequate number of doctors, medical staff and other medical staff, along with medical equipment, medicines, oxygen rollers and continuous health services for the well -being of pilgrims.
This year, Yatra will begin July from both routes – Pahalgam Track in the Anantnag district and Baltal in the Ganderbal district. Yatra will join August 9 on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
