On Friday, April 4, Jharkhand and its energy distribution company allowed the Government to reduce energy supply on the side routes of RAM Navami to prevent electrical proceedings.
The Top Court canceled the direction of the Jharkhand High Court, which forbade state authorities to reduce energy supply during religious processions, PTI said.
The bench, including the main judge of Sanjiv Khanna and Justices Sanjay Kumar and KV Viswanathan, have heard this matter. The attorney of Kapil Sibal, who appeared for the state government led by JMM, said that during the parades of RAM Navami people usually carry long flags that can lead to unfortunate incidents of electroccups in the state.
However, the bench asks Jharkhand to keep cuts to energy to a minimum level and restrict itself to a guide.
