
The six -time World Cup winner Jess Jonassen was omitted while Tess Flintoff won his first full -time contract when Australia announced her list of 18 contractual female players for the 2025/26 season.
Georgia Voll received its first full national contract after the standout of the debut season, including the ODI Century Award and the ICC Player of the Month for March. Tess Flintoff also received a contract after the strong Australia of the performance.
The biggest omission was All-Rounder veteran Jessen, six-time World Championship winner who has not appeared for Australia since the end of 2023.
Australian selector Shawn Flegler said that Voll and Flintoff’s promotion deserved, adding that Jonassen and others still have a chance.
“Tess is an exciting young player we can see that he has a long future in green and gold,” Flegler said.
“After overcoming the injury, we look forward to seeing her fit and firing during the summer, which adds another depth to our tempo-Bowling supplies.
“Georgia performed a sensational beginning of her international career, showed her immense talent from the beginning and played a key role for the team in the absence of Alyssa Healy at the top of the order.
Tayla Vlaminck retained her central contract, although she suffered shoulder dislocation during the World Cup T20 2024 T20 as she continues to heal.
Players outside the original list of contracts can still earn upgrades during the year by accumulating 12 points – five for a test and two for ODIS and T20is.
“Her ability to adapt to different formats was impressive and will play with the ODI World Cup at the end of this year and in the New Year series with multiple formats against India.
“While Jess Jonassen has not been included in this year’s list, we always pay attention to the players outside the team and she is no exception.”
