Jeffrey Epstein’s Manhattan mansion, where the disgraced financier abused dozens of women and entertained world leaders, politicians and celebrities, has undergone a massive multi-million dollar facelift, stripping it of its original ‘House of Horrors’ identity. It was also at this residence that his late victim, Virginia Giuffre and others endured sexual assault and harassment.
As the estate undergoes a costly redevelopment by its new owner, former Goldman Sachs executive Michael Daffey, details of the renovation have resurfaced the horrors Virginia Giuffre endured – recounted in her book, published after her death earlier this year.
According to a report in The New York Post, the infamous massage parlor – which she dubbed ‘The Dungeon’ – has been demolished. In her memoirs, Giuffre recalled that it was in that room that Jeffrey Epstein often raped her between 2000 and 2002. She remembered how excruciating it had become over time.
‘massage room’ aka ‘The Dungeon’
Virginia Giuffre recalled the details of the ‘massage room’ in her book. “A black lacquer cabinet, blood red carpets, a huge taxidermy tiger and a custom-made chess set with scantily clad women on the pieces,” she wrote.
She also remembered being forced to sleep under a tapestry that featured wild boars feeding on carrion as terrified children looked on. The room also had an intercom that Jeffrey Epstein used to summon her.
“He began experimenting with whips and restraints and other instruments of torture. In session after session, he played out various fantasies, with me as the victim. I was gagged and often a tied pig. Epstein liked to put a black leather, metal-studded collar around my neck, which continued down my spine, where it was connected to a chain that firmly connected my arms and legs. Giuffre.
Renovation
According to the report, the brass “JE” highlighted outside the headquarters has been removed.
The report states that a series of walls that formed a room inside the mansion were torn down to open up the space.
Gilded ceilings, light fixtures, shelves and extravagant moldings are said to have been removed from many rooms.
Epstein’s bedroom on the third floor of the mansion has not yet been tampered with.
Giuffre blames Prince Andrew
For years, Virginia Giuffre has accused Prince Andrew of repeatedly sexually abusing her when she was under 18 and a victim of sex-trafficking by Jeffrey Epstein and his ex-girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell.
She wrote that on the day she first met Andrew, Maxwell woke her up and told her it was going to be a special day and that “just like Cinderella” she was going to meet a “handsome prince”.
She said that when they met, the prince told her that “my daughters are only a little younger than you.” She said Maxwell instructed her to “do for him what you did for Jeffrey,” adding: “I knew better than to question her orders.
She said Epstein gave her $15,000 soon after to have sex with Andrew.
