Indian test captain and vice president T20 SHUBMAN GILL arrived in BCCI Center of Excellence here for the evaluation of fitness and preparation before traveling to Dubai for the upcoming Asia Cup.
Members of the Indian group are scheduled for the Assembly in Dubai 4. September before their opener of the tournament 9. September against the hosts of the United Arab Emirates. The influenza match was forced by Gill to skip the ongoing quarterfinals of the Duleep Trophy against East Zone, where he was appointed captain of the North Zone.
Gill recovered from her illness on his Chandigarh Home before departure to Bengalur. It is possible that Gill can leave Bengalur to Dubai, because this time players will get to Dubai in an impressed way from their respective places, unlike the past, when the team gathered in Mumbai before traveling EN Bloc.
In addition to Gill, Wicketkeeper-Patter Jitesh Sharma, he arrived in the COE to prepare before the tournament. PTI understands that Pacer Jasprit Bumrah, Washington Sundar, Yashsvi Jaiswal, Mohammad Siraj and Shardul Thakur are also ready to arrive in Coe for mandatory pre -season evaluation.
Thakur is set up to the West Zone leadership in the Duleep Trophy semifinals, while Jaiswal and Sundar, who are in the standby list for the Asia Cup, are also set to the last four home opening matches.
Some of the other players linked to Asia, such as Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana (North Zone) and Kuldeep Yadav (central zone) already playing the quarterfinals of the Duleep Trophy.
Meanwhile, the southern zone will have to appoint a new captain for the Duleep Trophy semifinals (September 4-7) because Tilak Varma was included in the Asia Cup group.
Trouble with injury for Mukesh Kumar
Kerala’s Mohammed Azharuddeen is a vice -chairman and could be promoted to a leading role or have more experienced candidates in R Sai Kishhore, Devdutt Padikkal or N Jagadeesan.
East Zone has suffered failure Given that Pacer Mukesh Kumar was not bowling in the second shifts, perhaps because of Niggle, which he kept here during the first shifts.
The Bengal Pacer sat on nine crossed in the first shifts to tend to his thigh/weakness before he continued his bowling. Mukesh also came out on the bat in the first East Zone shifts. However, on the second day of the Duleep Trophy quarterfinals, it was not available on a bowl.
