Jasprit Bumrah returns, Kuldeep Yadav retains place as India make a number of changes for New Zealand Tests

Shubman Gill, Jasprit Bumrah The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Friday announced the 15-member squad for India’s two-Test series against New Zealand in November.Jasprit Bumrah has returned to the Test squad after missing India’s previous series against Sri Lanka. He was originally named in this lineup, but was later withdrawn due to injury.Rishabh Pant, who missed India A’s tour of New Zealand after sustaining an injury during the home Irani Trophy, has also been included, subject to fitness.Fast bowlers Akash Deep and Anshul Kamboj were named in the squad. Akash Deep recently returned to action after recovering from a stress fracture. He last played for India during the 2025 tour of England where he impressed. Kamboj, meanwhile, was dropped after his England debut last year.Kuldeep Yadav retained his place in the lineup while left-arm spinner Manav Suthar missed out.The first Test will begin in Wellington on November 19, four days after the conclusion of the five-match ODI series. The second Test is scheduled to begin in Christchurch on November 27. The series will be important for India’s chances of reaching the final of the World Test Championship.India also announced two squads for the five-match ODI series against New Zealand.
