India’s captain SHUBMAN GILL remained insignificant about the inclusion of Jasprit Bumhrah for the fifth and last test against England in the oval. While Bumrah was in the Indian standout series, the team prefers the management of the workload in the middle of the wrapped calendar.
The green playground in the oval made the team carefully assess all the possibilities. Bumrah bowed in the series 119.4 overs – the third most for India, behind Mohammed Sraji (139) and Ravindra Jadeja (136.1) – and could be rested as a preventive measure. As Gill suggested, the final decision will be made on the eve of the match after evaluating the conditions and fitness players.

“We will decide tomorrow, the goal looks very green. So we’ll see,” Gill said at a press conference before the match.
“Arshdeep has been asked to prepare”
Gill indicated that Arshdeep Singh claims to debut in the final match. Gill also pointed to the decision of England to go without a front line, suggesting that India comfortably rely on Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar to handle the liability if necessary.
“Arshdeep Singh was asked to prepare, but we will call XI after looking at the playground, this evening. England did not choose the front spinner we have Jadeja and Washi to do,” Gill added.
The fifth test, starting with July 31, is of immense importance because it decides on the result of a fixed series between India and England. Since England is leading 2-1, they have been following their first victory of the series over India since 2018. On the other hand, India has been determined to equalize the 2-2 series and return home the undefeated-main performance on English soil.
Gill conducted a bat fee and scored 722 runs – more than any other player in the series. Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj claimed every 14 goals, while Ravindra Jadeja remains a vital versatile threat.
