The first Indian World Cup Captain, DEV, supported Jasprit Bumrah, despite the growing concerns about Fitness Pacer and said that the fast pitch constantly adds when it matters most. His remarks came after Bumrah endured disappointment against England on the 3rd day of the fourth test in Manchester on Saturday 26th July.
Recently, Bumrah found himself in the center of attention for bad reasons. Fans were more and more frustrated Recurrent problems with injuryEspecially in test matches with high betting. His struggle to find the pace and rhythm during the third day of Old Trafford played only doubts about his durability in the format.
When he talked about the PGTI announcement, Kapil pointed out that Bumrah’s action puts further loading on his body and makes a long test career more demanding.
“I think everyone is different. Times have changed, the bodies are different. They work differently. It is difficult to assess. Yes, it is one of the fast pitchmakers we have, but his actions are so embarrassing and difficult to keep it,” Kapil said as PTI quoted.
“We didn’t think he could play that far because he was too stress on the body.
Give Shubman Gill Time: Chapel DEV
Chapel also spoke in defense of SHUBMAN GILL, who currently leads India in the absence of Rohit Sharma. Gill’s captain came under control after the Indian bad performance in Manchester, but Chapel urged patience and reminded everyone that this was Gill’s first task as a test captain.
“Give him time. This is his first series; he will make mistakes and there will be a lot of positives over time, he will learn. There is no problem if he learns. They will be mistakes but learn from his mistakes – that’s very important,” he said.
“It’s a young team, they get the opportunity to play, and in the coming days these players win. It’s just a new team. Every new team in the world takes time of adaptation. Gill is a new captain and he will learn a lot and I think this series will be a step,” Kapil concluded.
