
Earthquake in Japan today: A strong 7.6-magnitude earthquake struck northern Japan on Monday, December 8. The strong earthquake triggered a tsunami warning, with waves of up to 10 feet expected on the northeast coast, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA). The earthquake struck off the coast of Hokkaido near Aomori, with an epicenter about 50 km (30 mi) below the seabed.
