Sinner will now defend his Wimbledon title against Alexander Zverev in Sunday’s final.Alexander Zverev defeated British wild card Arthur Fery 7-6 (7-0), 6-2, 6-4 that day to reach his first Wimbledon final, just a month after winning his first Grand Slam title at the French Open.“This Grand Slam has always been the one I’ve struggled with the most and suddenly I’m in the Wimbledon final,” Zverev said. “We have one more game on Sunday and that’s what we’re focused on.”Looking ahead to the title fight, the German remained confident.“It’s not going to be easy no matter who it’s against,” Zverev said. “But I have to believe in myself and I have to believe that I can win and that’s what I’m going to do.

Praise for Arthur Fery

Zverev may have ended Arthur Fery’s dream run but is full of praise for the 23-year-old British player who reached the semi-finals as a wild card.“I think it was just the beginning of his career and I really think he can do amazing things in this sport,” Zverev said.He also applauded the Wimbledon crowd, despite almost everyone rooting for the home favourite.“I know 99.99% of the stadium wanted Arthur to win. But it was still such an incredible atmosphere. A fair crowd too,” Zverev said.“A lot of crowds in the world can learn from this crowd. It’s one of the best crowds to play tennis in front of.”In the final, Sinner and Zverev will battle it out for the Wimbledon title in what promises to be a blockbuster showdown.
