Bharatiya Janata (BJP), led by the state president of the party Vijayendra, organized a protest against the state government as part of their Janakrosh Yatre in Shivamogg on Saturday in the middle of heavy rains.
The party planned a protest march and a public meeting in agitation against the increase in the price of basic commodities in Karnataka.
Mr. Vijayendra, who addressed workers, said that the Congress Government in Karnataka increased the price by more than 50 basic commodities. Raising diesel taxes, which would affect the price of many other products.
The government was not worried about the poor people of the state. Even government employees did not receive their salaries regularly, claimed.
He also gained an exception of 4% of the Muslims reservation in public laughs and claimed that the government had misused funds for the well -being of the planned caste and planned tribes.
Members of Lok Sabha by Raghavendra, Govind Karjol, former Ministers of Araga Jnanendra, Hartal Halappa, Mla Sn Channabasapp and others attended protest meetings.
Meanwhile, members of the district unit of Shivamogg of the Youth Congress organized a protest against the BJP.
Instead of protest against the state government, the members of Congress said that BJP leaders should persuade the central leadership in Delhi and reduce the price of basic products, including gasoline, diesel and bottles of LPG.
The police intervened and prevented them from reaching the GOPI circle, where the BJP leaders protested. They took the leader of the congress into custody.
