Jana Sena Party (JSP) President and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan has said that the party will stand against anyone who betrayed the country and posed a threat to the integrity of the nation and will not tolerate forces spreading separatist ideologies, regional hatred and differences among people.
Addressing the inaugural session of the JSP meeting titled Sena Prasthanam β Jateeya Samagratha Kosam (Party’s Path to National Integration) in New Delhi on Monday, Mr. Kalyan said the party would take seriously the forces seeking to divide the nation. He observed that the JSP was founded in 2014 as a people’s movement and never aspired for power or positions.
The basic goal was to protect the unity and integrity of the country. The party was gaining strength as many people, including people from other states, were joining it to take its ideology forward, he claimed.
Mr Pawan Kalyan referred to the Telugu literary work Sumathi Shatakam when he said that “a mighty snake can be killed by a swarm of tiny ants”. The metaphor, he says, applies to national politics, where “collective action by ordinary individuals with a divisive mindset” could weaken the country.
Inspiring Gen Z
Addressing the youth, Mr. Pawan Kalyan said, “It is our responsibility to impart patriotic values ββto Gen Z. They must be educated about their fundamental rights and responsibilities. Jana Sena will show the next generation what honest politics and ethical governance looks like.” He said that the destiny of the country will move to another level only when future generations move forward with progressive ideas.
Mr. Kalyan said the JSP was never against the formation of Telangana and only criticized the way the united state of Andhra Pradesh was bifurcated by the Congress party. The flawed bifurcation process created differences between the two states and the wounds were still festering.
The party has two MPs in the Lok Sabha and one in the Rajya Sabha, but they have a big responsibility to fulfill because they (the MPs) represent the entire nation. The JSP would show the next generation what honest politics and ethical governance looks like and work inspirationally to lay a strong foundation for the country, Mr. Kalyan added.
Issues in the spotlight
Addressing the media, JSP Political Affairs Committee Chairman and Civil Supplies Minister Nadendla Manohar later said that the meeting discussed five topics, namely achieving Viksit Bharat Vision, Nation First, reconstruction of Andhra Pradesh, 12-year journey of the party and role of Gen Z in politics.
Noting that the purpose of organizing the meeting in the state capital was to promote responsibility and patriotism in every citizen and thereby promote national integration beyond selfish politics, the leaders from AP and some other states appreciated Mr. Pawan Kalyan for striving for nationalism by transcending caste, religion and regions and unanimously supported the steps taken by him to unite all the people of the country.
Minister Kandula Durgesh, MPs Vallabhaneni Balashowry and T. Uday Srinivas, MLC K. Nagababu, MLA Konathala Ramakrishna, Government Whips Bolisetti Srinivas and Bommidi Nayakar, JSP General Secretary Ram Talluri and others were present.
