Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan on Monday said that he had founded the Jana Sena Party (JSP) as a regional party with a national outlook and that it was never intended to serve the interests of any particular caste. He said JSP won the elections on the basis of collective ideology and fighting spirit shaped by the suffering of the masses during 2019-24.
Addressing a meeting of newly nominated JSP leaders near Mangalagiri, Mr. Kalyan said the party should function strictly within the framework of the constitution and refrain from aggression or using profanity against political rivals as such behavior would not be accepted by the people.
He said that constructive criticism should be taken with right mind and followed by necessary corrective measures. The deputy minister emphasized that the coalition government should clearly differentiate itself from the previous regime and that a concerted effort is needed to achieve this goal.
Mr. Kalyan said that the police should be allowed to perform their duties freely if the state is to proceed in a peaceful environment and asserted that the government is determined to deal sternly with those who create public order disturbances.
He urged JSP leaders to take differences within the coalition in their stride while working towards common goals, reminding them that their primary responsibility is to ensure development and look after the welfare of the people.
Suggesting that the Polavaram project be named after Potti Sriramula in honor of his supreme sacrifice, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the JSP has secured 3,459 nominated posts so far and more appointments will follow.
